CR steel is produced from Hot Roll (HR) substrate material. HR black is initially put through a process of Pickle & Oiled (P&O) to remove surface impurities such as oxides and scale creating a clean surface. In order to establish formability and reduce internal stress the CR steel has to go through an annealing. Annealing can be BA (Batch Annealing) of CA (Continuous Annealing).
In cases where the customer requires improved surface finish and flatten steel, the CR is put through a Skin Pass Rolling process.
